Above the CloudsOn my recent, short trip to Kentucky, I had to do a lot of flights in a short period. In Omaha and Chicago, it was dreary, cloudy and gray for much of the time. Waiting for boarding and looking out on the tarmac, as many people around here do, I wondered when the cold and grey would finally give way to spring. We are expecting snow today, and more next week! Anyway, my musing for today is about how though it was gray and cloudy on the ground, it is much different once above the clouds.At first, there may be turbulence, and as you get higher and actually into the dark clouds you can't see a thing. Its all a fog, and often it is a bit scary as you bounce around at nature's mercy. But then, you breach the clouds as a happy whale breaches the sea, and you see a whole new, wonderful world. It is a sea below you of pretty cotton fluff. The sun illuminates the cotton candy fields and makes the shapes of the formations seem solid, like you
